Doctor required for our family practice:

Currently our practice requires the services of an additional Doctor seeking work on a full-time basis for a VR GP. There is also a 19AB exemption available, if required.

Our practice is open 8am to 6pm Monday to Thursday, Friday’s 8am to 5pm and closed on weekends. After hours is currently not required by doctors at our practice as our patients are cared for by a third party after hour’s service.

The right doctor will have an already well established patient list and our new patient list is constantly growing due to the excellent patient service provided by our administration and nursing team, as well as strong marketing strategies to see this growth continue.

We currently have 5 doctors, 3 nurses, 6 administration officers and a Practice Manager.

A little about Bundaberg

Welcome to the Bundaberg Region….

The Bundaberg region is situated approximately four hours drive and only a 45 minute flight north of Queensland’s capital, Brisbane.

The region covers more than 6,000 square kilometres and boasts diverse natural resources and facilities, reflected in its offshore, coastal, riverine, city, rural and protected environments. The area lays claim to the internationally renowned Southern Great Barrier Reef, Mon Repos Turtle Rookery, Bundaberg Rum, and the famous aviator Bert Hinkler.

Bundaberg City is the provincial hub of this vibrant, unique region, and is centred on the picturesque Burnett River at the southern tip of the Great Barrier Reef. It is the commercial and service centre, as well as distribution point, for the region.

The Bundaberg region’s notable features include equable climate, relaxed and inviting lifestyle, affordable living, modern shopping facilities, plentiful tourism destinations and diverse economic opportunities. Such factors, together with the friendliness of its residents make this area a superb place to visit or reside in.

Located on the sub-tropical central coast of Queensland, the region’s position provides an enviable climate, one of the most equable in Australia. Moderate summer days give way to balmy tropical evenings. Average summer temperatures range from 20°C to 29°C. Winter days are mild and dry, averaging 22°C , with fewer than 18 wet days in the rainy season. Rainfall is concentrated in the warmer months, when tropical thunderstorms will bring a cool change after a sultry day. The climatic conditions make it possible to enjoy the outdoors throughout the entire year from land sport, water sport, camping, hiking and so much more!

Residents and visitors to the Bundaberg region have easy access to a wide variety of services and vital infrastructure. These include three major hospitals, public schools and colleges, and major campuses of CQ University and Institute of Technical and Further Education (TAFE).

The city, serving a population of over 100,000 people, is a vital regional business hub for Queensland, boasting excellent shopping, sporting, cultural and tourism facilities and has become a popular venue for the staging of conferences and major events. The city has an active business and professional community, who share their expertise and insight into building a strong and sustainable regional economy.

Economy

The Bundaberg region is located in the heart of a rich sugar and horticultural belt supported by a growing manufacturing sector. In fact, Bundaberg produces one fifth of Queensland’s sugar crop and the city is surrounded by a green sea of rich sugar cane and many farms growing Australia’s finest small crops. The city plays a significant role in global manufacture and industry, being home of ‘the famous Aussie Spirit’, Bundaberg Rum.

Leading drinks manufacturer Bundaberg Brewed Drinks, diversified agricultural corporation Bundaberg Sugar, and many others of international recognition reside in the vicinity of Bundaberg. Bundaberg Rum offers regular daily tours of their world-class distillery, as does Bundaberg Brewed Drinks through the Big Barrel, their interpretive visitor centre.
