The aim of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Check is to help ensure that people receive primary health care matched to their needs, by encouraging early detection, diagnosis and intervention for common and treatable conditions that cause morbidity and early mortality.
Burnett Medical Centre is a supporter of the ATSI Closing the Gap service for our indigenous patients. CTG is especially helpful for those that don’t usually qualify for bulk billing. CTG provides our ATSI patients with affordable health care.
Pre-employment medical examination requirements may include: Audiometry (hearing test, including WorkCover QLD audio compliance), Spirometry (lung function test) and Drug and Alcohol testing (instant or laboratory).
Burnett Medical Centre has trained and experienced nurses and doctors to manage your chronic diseases. BMC calls these SIPS. For conditions such as Diabetes, Heart conditions, painful joint and muscular skeletal problems and more. The Australian Medicare system provides up to 5 therapy sessions with Allied Health professionals.
BMC has an accredited Diabetes Educator visit twice a month. The session is covered as part of your Diabetes Management Plan Team Care Arrangement by Medicare.
